Hello, and welcome to Big Sandy ISD’s web-site.  I am glad you have taken the time to check us out on the web.  I am excited to be a part of Big Sandy ISD.  I feel very fortunate to have been chosen to continue to lead this district in “A Journey to a New Destination”.   I would like to take this time to introduce myself and my family to Big Sandy. 

I am Scott Beene, I have been the superintendent of Murchison ISD for the past 2 ½ years.  Prior to this time I was an elementary principal for 3 years and an agricultural science teacher for 8 years.  I have a wonderful wife, Kim and a super 4 year old son, Brice.  Currently we live in the New York community and plan to move to the Big Sandy area by the end of the summer.  Kim is also an educator and is joining us in Big Sandy.  We enjoy the outdoors and participating in and working team roping and rodeos.

I am eager to learn more about such a wonderful school district and its staff.  Kim and I have felt very welcomed by the Board of Trustees and staff we have met.  Big Sandy is truly a place we feel we can call home.
