Big Sandy Junior High School

The holiday season is quickly approaching.  Wow, each day seems to fly by faster.  Before our holiday break, the JH campus has a busy final week.  The faculty and staff are busy making final preparations for benchmark testing that will be held December 19 and 20.  Each JH student will be involved in taking these tests.  This will give our campus valuable data that will help our students be better prepared for the TAKS test next semester.  We ask that each student give his/her best during these tests.  Each test will count as a six weeks test grade. 

Basketball is in full swing.  The JH coaches are doing a fantastic job working with and preparing our student athletes to perform at their best.  Congrats to the 8^th grade girls team.  They are undefeated so far this season. 

Our 6^th and 7^th grade bands did a great job performing in their annual holiday band concert.  The 8^th graders did an awesome job performing with the HS kids in the varsity band.  Great job students!!  If you weren’t there, you missed a great performance. 

Parents/guardians, I want to encourage you to continue to “stay on” your child as far as academics and behavior.  It is very important that each child on the JH campus realize and reach his/her potential.  You, as well as our faculty and staff, play a vital role in that realization. 

I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, and a blessed 2008.  Have a safe and fun-filled holiday break.
