Big Sandy High School

As we approach our winter break there are several things I would like to share with all of our students and parents. First, we will be giving an extensive bench mark test the week of December 17. We ask that students make sure they are at school and ready to give us their best. Teachers will use the data from this test to prepare students for the TAKS test during the spring semester. Also, keep in mind that our semester does not end until after we come back from winter break on January 17. The new semester will begin on January 22. Basketball is in full swing, please stop by the office and pick up a schedule. We will be having a Winter Band Concert on December 13, at 6:30.

With the first semester coming to an end, some of our students will need to be looking at the number of absences they have accrued up until this point. Students who have missed more than 10 times in a semester will be in need of make up hours for the first semester. I am excited to inform students and parents that beginning December 3 the cafeteria will be offering an A-La-Carte menu for the high school. Students will be able to purchase such foods as pizza, burgers, cheese sticks, etc… Also, the board will be naming a Lone Finalist for the superintendents position on December 19.
