Big Sandy Sprinting Through Track Season

The Lady Wildcats finished in 3rd place in the team competition with a total of 108 points.

Cassie Case won the gold in the shot put with a distance of 32’3/4”, she also won the silver in the discus with a throw of 92’ 2”.

Jazz Montgomery won 1st place in the Triple Jump with a distance of 34’ 7”.

Jenna Rushing took home the silver medal in the high jump with a height cleared of 4’ 11”.

Ivetee Garcia finished in 5th place in the 800 meter run with a time 2:48.19.

Savanna Reed finished in 5th place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.52.

Katie Baird won the silver in the 100 meter dash in the time of 13.62.

Jazz Montgomery won the gold in the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.06 and Jaz Chalk won the bronze in the same event with a time of 28.53.

The 400 meter relay team of Katie Baird, Jaz Chalk, Leslie Pruitt, and Jazz Montgomery won the silver medal with a time of 52.10.

The 1600 Relay team of Erica Pharr, Hailey Sigler, Chelsea Sigler, and Ivetee Garcia finished in 5th place with a time of 4:59.35.

Jenna Rushing, Jaz Chalk, Leslie Pruitt, and Jazz Montgomery took the gold medal in the 800 meter relay in a time of 1:53.29.

Ronnie Chalk was a double gold medal winner for the Wildcats winning the 400 meter dash in a time of 52.83 and winning the 200 meter dash in a time of 22.89.

Josh Howe finished in 6th place in the 200 meter dash in a time of 24.65.

Trent Hodge completed the boy’s scoring in the shot put with a distance of 37’ 7 ½”.

In the Junior Varsity Boy’s division River Pena won the pole vault with a height of 10’4”, he also finished in 4th place in the 400 meter dash in a time of 59.31.

Michael Green finished in 5th place in the shot put with a distance of 30’ 11” and Zach Dunham finished in 6th place in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.92.

The Wildcats competed in the Texas Relays on April 3-4 in Austin and complete the regular season at the District 21-A Track Meet on April 8 in Hawkins.
