Model UN Teams Sweep Competition

The Model United Nations began at Region VII as a way for the Gifted and Talented students to come together for a competition based on mutual respect and cooperation. Big Sandy has been involved in this program since 1995. The Model United Nations is held each winter at SFA and UT Tyler. The program is based on the real United Nations; however adjustments have been made to allow for student performance. Each fall, teachers choose countries for their students, and the students write resolutions on a world problem, make maps and collages, and write speeches for other countries resolutions.
